During the three-day cultural events c.p.cavafy@ days_of_2013 on 13, 14 and 15 December 2013, held at the Cultural Centre of the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation, well known artists and representatives of the younger generation approached Cavafy’s poetry through the performing and visual arts, cinema and literature:

The old man of Alexandria. Musical performance. Poems by C.P. Cavafy set to music by Thanos Mikroutsikos with Kostas Thomaidis, song, mandolin - Thimios Papadopoulos, flute, clarinet, bansouri, soprano saxophone - Dimitris Papanikolaou, narrative -Thanos Mikroutsikos, piano.
Cavafy and music: Songs & reflections. Recital of poetry set to music. Alexandra Gravas: Mezzo soprano. Piano: Pantelis Polychronidis Narration: Kostas Zografopoulos.
Beyond the shadow of the Word. Poetry evening with young poets. Concept-presentation: Thomas Tsalapatis. Participating poets: Anna Griva, Thomas Ioannou, Lena Callergi, Stergios Mitas, Yorgos Prevedourakis, Theodoros Rakopoulos.
The Morning Sea. A narrative wandering in the poetry of Cavafy by the storyteller Sasa Voulgari. Music composition and accompaniment on stage: Spyros Pan.
Twelve films with documentation and dramatic approaches to the life and work of the C.P. Cavafy were screened. The programme included documentaries by Yorgos Avgeropoulos, Eglal Errera, Mary Koutsouri, Tassos Psaras, Dimitris Anagnostopoulos, fiction or docufiction films by Yannis Smaragdis, Stelios Haralampopoulos, Yorgos Koumouros, as well as short and medium length films by Constantinos Yannaris, Phyllis Katrapani, Francois Prenant.
The new production of the European Cultural Centre of Delphi, The Byzantine Cavafy (2013 Panos Kyparissis and Fanis Douskos) in scientific supervision of Helene Ahrweiler was also presented.
